Zoe Conway, John McIntyre & Coohe Bros At The Opera House

On July 20 (8pm) Zoe Conway and John McIntyre come together with the Coohe Bros in a rare fusion of Persian and Irish traditional music. The union happens at the National Opera House, Wexford. You don't get many opportunities to hear Santoor (a trapezoid -shaped stringed instrument), Tombak (a percussion instrument) and Tar (a plucked string instrument) in these parts. The fact that they come packaged with one of the finest fiddle and guitar duos around makes it that little bit special. Tickets €20. Tel 053 9122144. There are workshops on the day of the concert from 3-5pm. Zoe can take 20 students and John 10. They’ll work separately for approx. 100 mins coming together for the last 15 mins. First come, first served.
